Focusing on two ideas, 1st playing chords on the guitar with a minimum amount of movement between the chords and 2nd applying this to the chord progression of the rock classic “Hey Joe.  Parts of that progression have been borrowed by countless rock tunes.  Minimum chord movement simply means voicing the chords so that the distance between the chords is as close as possible. This is a contrast from the rock and blues guitar playing where the chords are played by a movable shape moved up and down the fretboard.  Minimum movement is studied in college music theory and by keyboard players and classical guitarist but applying it to blues and rock guitar is not common.  Ted Greene, was the first person I ever heard apply that idea to electric guitar on a rock tune. 20 minute video lesson with close ups demonstrations and explanations with PDF in chord grids, tab and notation.
