Jazz Heads

In jazz the melody is often referred to as the "Head" so this section will study the actual melody as a jazz guitarist would play.  A Jazz Head is a single note melody to be played with a larger combo so someone else is playing the chords.  A Chord Melody is typically played in a trio setting with bass and drums so the guitarist has to play the chords as well as the melody.  Here are single note Jazz Heads with printable PDF in tab and notation and most lessons also include Mp3 practice/backing tracks. The video will demonstrate slowly and up close the positions where Rich likes to play the melody line and he'll rehearse each phrase with you to help you master the tune.
