The first in a series of comping arrangements of bebop blues in the key of F. F and Bb are the most common keys for blues in the bebop style. Mastering the chords and getting the "cool" moves in your fingers and the sounds in your ears will get you ready for the next jam session.
The second arrangement uses a chromatic ascending voice through the changes of the blues and could be used as a chord solos as well as comping chords.
In the third installment of comping arrangements over a bebop blues progression in the key of F we explore how 2 5 1 chord changes can be used. This is important to know not only in comping but in soloing as well. Expand your comping vocabulary by getting this version in your fingers.
The fourth variation of comping the bebop blues in the key of F uses almost one chord per beat. It incorporates many side stepping techniques as well a passing chords. Even though many measures have a moving lower voice the comping arrangement can still can be played with a bass player because it's not in the way of typical bass lines.
